One man was finally hunted, and a Filipino stood above the rest.
In the finals of Manhunt International 2012 held at the Scala Theater in Bangkok, Thailand, Manhunt Philippines June Macasaet was named winner after edging out 54 other candidates for the title. He was awarded by last year’s winner, China’s John Chen Fian Jeng. This is the country’s first win in the same.
June’s court includes 1st Runner-up Bo Peter Jonsson of Sweden, 2nd Runner-up Martin Wang of Macau, 3rd Runner-up Jimmy Perez Rivera of Puerto Rico, and 4th Runner-Up Jason Chee of Singapore.
The remaining placers in the Top 15 are Jorge Perez of Colombia, Ivans Jevstignejevs of Latvia, Thomas Gabriel of Greece, Lavdrim Sylejmani of Switzerland, Andres Giraldo of the USA, Jeyco Estaba of Venezuela, Joel Perez of Dominican Republic, Arry Dabas of India, Mookapon Posakabuth of Thailand and Alexander Bach of Denmark.
Special awards were also handed out for Best in National Costume (Hongkong), Face of the Year (Puerto Rico), Best Runway (Latvia), Urban Male Award (Philippines’ June Macasaet), Best Physique (Macau), Mr. Personality (Bahamas), Mr. Photogenic (India) and the two fast-track-to-Top-15-honors of Mr. Internet Popularity won by Singapore and Mr. Friendship taken by Denmark.
As winner of the popular male pageant, June will receive a cash prize of USD 10,000.00, a modeling contract, USD 25,000.00 Aesthetics treatments, Photographic Portfolios worth USD 5,000.00 and several other prizes worth more than USD 40,000.00.
Inspite of some kinks – such as a narrow stage, absence of live streaming and the venue’s power supply temporarily going off right in the middle of proceedings – the Thai organizers should be fairly commended for putting up this year’s finals and continuing the tradition of Manhunt International.
Congratulations to all the winners, especially our very own June Macasaet! Mabuhay ka!
